What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage ?
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is an advanced therapeutic technique that has been proven to stimulate the lymphatic system. The therapist uses gentle rhythmic hand movements which help eliminate waste from the body returning vital proteins to the circulatory system. MLD encourages the lymphatic system to work at its optimum efficiency. A healthy lymphatic system promotes healthy body tissue and functions.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a technique that covers the whole body. MLD encourages the lymphatic system to work at its optimum efficiency. A healthy lymphatic system promotes healthy body tissue and functions. It also promotes health in the immune system, aids relaxation and can be helpful in pain management. Some chronic conditions respond well to MLD as do some large oedemas of the extremities.
The techniques have been developed during many, many year's of research in the Dr. Vodder School in Austria. This is the original and leading school for Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Qualifications from these trainings enable graduates to apply for membership of MLD UK, the professional organisation representing and supporting MLD practitioners in this country.
When fully qualified, practitioners discover that a wealth of employment opportunities open out before them.
